PHP Manager Now Available, Along with PHP 7.0 and 7.1

Hello there! We just wanted to let everyone know that, after much testing and tweaking, we are officially launching MultiPHP Manager, MultiPHP Editor, and support for PHP 7.0 and 7.1!

PHP 7 was originally released December 2015, but it has taken some time for it to become the norm. In fact, many WordPress themes and plugins break if you switch to PHP 7, so we didn’t want to let the word out too early that it was available.

PHP 7.1 was released a year later, December 2016. It brought along more improvements, and in many cases huge performance boosts!

So, how do you try out these newer versions of PHP? It’s easy! Log in to Concourse, find and click on your Starter, Pro, or Max hosting plan, and then click “Login to cPanel” over in the left-hand navigation menu. Searching for “php” will reveal the relevant cPanel modules, and you’ll find these two new options:

  • MultiPHP Manager
  • MultiPHP Editor

MultiPHP Manager lets you do what it says – manage which version of PHP your site uses! The default is still PHP 5.6 for now, but you can easily switch back and forth between PHP 5.5, 5.6, 7.0, and 7.1 without asking the CleverHost Expertise team for assistance.

MultiPHP Editor lets you tweak your PHP instance on a per-site basis, so you can make changes that add support for any PHP extensions we have installed. That means you can turn on extensions, turn them off again, make changes to the default upload values, and more!

If you want access to a PHP extension we don’t currently support, just let us know! We will be happy to look at the request and see if we can accommodate it.

Go forth, and make your sites better than ever, right here on CleverHost! If you’re not already a customer but want to get started, and take advantage of our free migration service, just head over to Concourse and enter promo codeĀ iamclever for 50% off your first Starter, Pro, or Max invoice!
